Ranger School Packing List v.11 – What’s Changed in 2025

Attention Rangers: the Ranger School Packing List v.11 was updated on 1 September 2025, and Gibson is here to break it down for you. Staying current with the list is crucial—bringing the wrong gear (or missing required items) can get you dropped.

 

Items Removed

Version 11 lightened the load by removing several items:

  • Two triple mag pouches

  • Flashbang grenade pouch

  • AC cover for your helmet

  • Trigger finger mittens, including mitten shells and mitten inserts

That’s five items you no longer need to pack.

Items Added or Now Required

Some items were added or now officially required:

  • Rhino mount and J arm

  • Extra bite valve and bladder

  • Multi-tool (yes, you actually need one now)

  • Sunscreen – two non-aerosol 6–8 ounce bottles

Other Changes

  • Batteries, pens, and pencils are now as needed. Previously, the list specified 16 batteries and 10 pens/pencils each.

Ranger School isn’t forgiving. Every item, every strap, and every ounce counts. Stay updated with the current Ranger School Packing List—don’t risk getting dropped because you missed a required item.
