Ruck Configurations
Ruck Configurations, Ruck Fittings and Ruck Repairs for Ranger School and More
“When we first began the ruck configurations, I never believed that it would turn into this. We were just doing it for fun. I always tell everyone it was a fluke and if someone had told me we would still be building rucks 18 months later, I would have bet them money we wouldn't. Even some of the people that reported to Ranger today said they have heard about our rucks at Bragg, Germany, Hawaii and everywhere else.”- Gibson, the Ruck Doctor.
Q. What exactly is a “ruck configuration”, what do you do?
A. When a customer first walks in:
- We ask them to describe what they do not like about their current set-up.
- After listening to and talking them through what we do, we strip the ruck all the way down.
- We examine the frame to analysis cracks or fractures.
- If their frame in compromised, we will reach out to the customer with pictures showing them and explaining it prior to them making a decision to replace, repair, or leave as is.
- When we rebuild their ruck, we replace the QRS straps with new webbing that holds and grip better and for much longer than SI webbing.
- We replace and add custom Load Lifters and Assault Pack clips and straps to protect them from breaking.
- We make the ruck sit high and tight, carry weight extremely well, and make 'living' under the ruck more comfortable and sustainable for long periods of time.
MOLLE to MALICE Conversion
This is direct feedback from a Ranger School grad, two weeks out, testing our large MOLLE ruck conversion on the MALICE frame. Before this setup, he couldn’t make it through a 12-miler without stopping five or six times. Cramping, back pain, and full skin loss on the hips were normal.
MOLLE2 on MALICE Frame
Gibson's MOLLE 2 ruck setup, but with a little twist. I’ve got it mounted on a MALICE frame and added custom shoulder straps for a more comfortable and functional carry.
